Born in 1970, award-winning film composer Mikel Salas is known for being a unique voice that ranges from orchestral compositions to eerily organic sound-design creations, where the sensibility of popular music is always present. He likes to play with unusual instruments and processes in his quest to find that special colour for that specific story.
He has worked on many Spanish and international co-productions, collaborating with directors Paco Plaza, Félix Viscarret, Manuela Burló Moreno and Álvaro Fernández Armero, among others, and throughout his career he has been lucky enough to rely on artists like Enrique Morente, Christina Rosenvinge, Teresa Salgueiro (Madredeus), Oreka TX or Ara Malikian.
